Changes to the Quebec Drug Plan 2021

posted in: news

Since July 1st, 2021, the amount of the maximum annual premium paid by people covered by the public prescription drug insurance plan has increase from $662 to $710.

The monthly deductible, which was $22.25, will stay the same for this year. The co-insurance portion, which was 35%, will also stay the same until end of June 2022. The maximum annual contribution has increased from $1,144 to $1,161.

In Quebec, everyone must always have drug insurance. People eligible under the group benefit insurance plan from insurers are required to join and cover their spouses and children. Others must enroll in the public plan.
