Since July 1st, 2019, the amount of the maximum annual premium paid by people covered by the public prescription drug insurance plan has decrease from $616 to $636.

The monthly deductible, which was $19.90, increased to $21.75 and the co-insurance portion, which was 34.9%, increased to 37%. The maximum annual contribution has increased from $1,087 to $1,117.

In Quebec, everyone must have drug insurance at all times. People eligible under the group benefit insurance plan from insurers are required to join and cover their spouses and children. Others must enroll in the public plan.
